Natasha is a high school senior who is preparing to graduate from the Newark Digital Academy.  She is looking forward to being a part of Newark High School’s commencement and receiving her diploma with her classmates.  Natasha shared a few of her thoughts with us as she prepares to celebrate.

The Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities (DD) recently hosted an event to celebrate and honor people in our community who made a positive impact on the lives of 1597 children, youth, and adults who received support from the Board of DD in 2015.

Ohio Public Images Campaign LogoEveryone has a story and they are all worth telling. Ohio Public Images’ 2016 awareness theme, “What’s Your Story,” is designed to capture the dreams, interests, abilities and personalities of people who have developmental disabilities.

In honor of Developmental Disabilities Awareness month, we want to share stories of Licking County citizens with developmental disabilities.  Our first story features Tanner Krupp.

Project SEARCH is a one-year internship program for high school seniors with disabilities, who aim to achieve competitive employment. The students will spend their entire school day on site with Licking Memorial Health Systems(LMHS). To learn more, please attend an Open House on Wednesday, February 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at LMHS.

Applications for Project SEARCH can be obtained from teachers in Licking County schools. If you have any questions about the program, please feel free to contact:

Take a moment to see four of our amazing Providers in action:  LICCO Inc., PALS, KICKS, and SPARK.  We have over a dozen agency Providers in Licking County that offer different opportunities for Licking County adults with developmental disabilities.

It brings me great pleasure to introduce myself as the new Superintendent for the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to serve you all, and I am humbled by the responsibility I now have to carry on the legacy Nancy Neely leaves behind as she retires with over 30 years of service.
