LCBDD Superintendent/CEO Alex Corwin: 'We want to hear from you!'

"I am excited to join LCBDD as our current strategic plan comes to an end in 2026.

Throughout this year, we will build a variety of opportunities for people and families served, partners and staff to provide input into LCBDD’s priorities for 2027 through 2029.

Our focuses will include building an inclusive Licking County through education, housing, and hiring practices; supporting advocacy skill development and opportunities for self-advocates to be heard and connecting families with each other for peer support and mentorship.

Regardless of how you support or are supported by LCBDD, please feel empowered to share your story and vision for an inclusive Licking County.

The first stakeholder group we will be targeting are the families and caregivers of children and youth with disabilities.

Of the roughly 2,700 people we serve, roughly two-thirds of them are under 21. Many of these families are engaging with LCBDD for the first time or recently received a disability diagnosis for their child. Their experiences are important to us.

Please take a moment to click here to respond to our short survey. Over the next few months, you may see this survey at community events or receive it from your Service Coordinator. We need your vision of an inclusive Licking County to guide our organization."

Learn more about the Blue Envelope program!A close up image of a woman wearing a black coat stands in front of her car holding a blue envelope.

Now in 84 Ohio counties, the Blue Envelope program provides information to officers, deputies or emergency personnel to support a driver or passenger with disabilities.

Each envelope has space for emergency contacts, notes that help support the person and can hold copies of important documents that can he helpful during a traffic stop. LCBDD staff members have been working in cooperation with local law enforcement to spread the word that envelopes are still available.

People supported by LCBDD should ask their Service Coordinator about the program. Envelopes can also be picked up at the LCBDD office at 116 N. 22nd Street in Newark during business hours ( 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday- Friday). For more information, contact Anna Jeffries at anna.jeffries@lcountydd.org or 740-322-6911.
