Mike Crider
A resident of the Hebron area, Michael “Mike” Crider joined the board of the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities in 2021.
Mike has been a Deputy Sheriff with the Licking County Sheriff’s Office since 2008.
A 2003 graduate of Heath High School, Mike earned an associate degree in law enforcement from Central Ohio Technical College.
Over his career, he has worked in the jail, detective and community services divisions of LCSO. He previously served as a school resource officer at Lakewood Local Schools and is currently a Lieutenant in the LCSO Community Services Division.
Mike writes:
“I’m actually ashamed to say prior to having a child with an intellectual disability — I really didn’t know what the LCBDD did for our community. Being a young parent with our first child having a disability, my wife and I felt like we were drowning navigating all of the testing, therapies, and doctor visits, trying to find an answer for all of our daughter’s delays.
We were eventually told about the LCBDD and started receiving services. The Early Intervention we received for our daughter Natalie was nothing short of LIFE changing! For a family who was drowning in stress and searching for answers, the LCBDD was a lifesaver.
Through this great experience came not only a partnership, but a friendship. The Board has always been there for our family for the last seven years. It's been an eye-opening experience about how fortunate we are to live in a community where there is so much support to families who need it. I am humbled by the opportunity to serve on the LCBDD.”
Mike was appointed to the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities by Licking County Probate Judge, Judge Hoover.
