By the early 1990s, the numbers of school age children being educated at the E.S. Weiant Starlight School were declining as families took advantage of special education programs in their home school districts. Working collaboratively with the Licking County Educational Services Center, the Board started to phase out of its historic role as a special education school for children ages 6 to 22. The last high school aged student graduated in 2000.
