Licking County Residents,
It brings me great pleasure to introduce myself as the new Superintendent for the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to serve you all, and I am humbled by the responsibility I now have to carry on the legacy Nancy Neely leaves behind as she retires with over 30 years of service.
The Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities is observed across the state as being a very progressive County Board, which has strategically planned and positioned itself by providing supports in a manner of thoughtfulness with respect to each person receiving services.
Over the past 18 years, I have dedicated my life to working in the DD field of support services. In this time, I have built a fondness towards each person’s unique desires and dreams and have been fueled by the energy to do everything I can to ensure every opportunity to enable these wishes to come true. I firmly believe that positive outcomes are achieved only through strong collaborative relationships, which consist of our Board staff, the people we support and their families, providers, the community, school districts and other key business partners. Alone, we can never accomplish our mission, but together, we can.
I look forward to meeting you personally. We are currently planning regional “get to know me” meetings across the county. This will give you an opportunity to meet me and ask questions you would like answered. As I become oriented to Board operations and to the community, getting to know our families; providers and community partners to find out what’s working, what’s not, and how we may improve is a vital part of my growth. I hope to see you at one of these meetings.
I also want you to have my contact information. My email address is: jason.umstot@lcountydd.org or you can call the Board office at: 740-349-6588.
With Respect,
Jason L. Umstot
Superintendent
