Accessibility Statement

April 2026

Public Notice on Digital Accessibility:

The Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities believes that when things are more accessible, it benefits everyone in our community. This includes the services and supports we provide, both in person and digitally.

Measures to support accessibility

LCBDD takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of LCountyDD.org:

  • Including accessibility throughout our internal policies.
  • Appointing an accessibility coordinator.
    • Public Information Officer Anna Jeffries also serves as Accessibility Coordinator for LCBDD. Her contact information can be found below.
  • Providing continual accessibility training for our staff, through internal trainings and continuing education opportunities at conferences.
  • Assigning clear accessibility goals and responsibilities, with dates when those will be completed.
  • Employing formal accessibility quality assurance methods. Pages are scanned by staff members and updated at least annually, with support from a third-party web developer.
  • Alt-text will be used with all images on our website and social media pages. Videos will be captioned.
  • PDFs will be used sparingly and those that are used will be designed with accessibility in mind and scanned using the Adobe Acrobat Pro Accessibility Checker before they are posted to the website.

Conformance status

As of April 24, 2026, the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

In the next few months, LCBDD will continue to pursue the following accessibility goals:

  • Complete manual scans of all website pages and complete all remediation including several changes to the home page of LCountyDD.org. Target date of completion: June 30, 2026

  • Acquire an Accessibility Conformance Report from ClearCo, which supplies the job postings and job application forms on Lcountydd.org/careers. Target date of completion: May 31, 2026

  • Convert our application for services from an accessible, fillable PDF to an online form. Target date of completion: June 30, 2026

  • Transition the two remaining policies currently available in PDF format into web pages on our site. Target date of completion: August 31, 2026.

Additional accessibility considerations

LCBDD also offers users the opportunity to use the Recite Me toolbar on our website.

How to use the Accessibility Features:

You can access the Recite Me toolbar by clicking on the “Accessibility & Language”
button located at the top of every page on our website. From there, you can choose the features that best suit your needs.

With the Recite Me toolbar, you can:
• Change text size to make it larger or smaller for easier reading.
• Adjust text and background color for better contrast and readability.
• Use the text-to-speech function to have the content read aloud in a natural voice.
• Translate the content into over 100 languages, with the option to have it read
aloud in the selected language.
• Use a screen ruler to help with focus when reading.
• Enable a dyslexia-friendly font for improved text clarity.
• Use the magnifying glass to zoom in on specific parts of the page.
