The power of faith, determination and being positive are really what get us where we want to go in life.
But the one thing that I believe we often forget is how much we really need others to help us make our dreams come true.
Often, it takes the support of many people to help us arrive at our desired destination.
The mission of LCBDD is to “support people with developmental disabilities to discover, pursue, and achieve what is important to them.”
This clearly demonstrates how much our role means to everyone we support and how very important our job is to so many. They depend on us to assist them in reaching their goals in life.
Our agency often supports people throughout their lives. We serve young children through Early Childhood services, assist teens and young adults with the
transition to life after high school and support people throughout their adult years.
As needs change, we are there every step of the way. Being a part of peoples’ lives and knowing that we can help contribute to their successes is very rewarding.
I’m so very impressed with how seriously the LCBDD staff takes their job responsibilities. We all know that we play an important part in each person’s life and since our services can last throughout a person’s lifetime, it’s really great to see the difference our assistance can make.
We should all remember that it doesn’t matter how fast we accomplish our goals, it is the experiences along the way that make us who we are and builds our
determination.
Chris Gardner said, “Baby steps count, as long as you are going forward. You add them all up, and one day you look back and you’ll be surprised.”
To all of the LCBDD staff, I’m grateful for you and your motivation toward our mission.
To the people we support, thank you for trusting in us to help you along your life’s journey.
